Base Teaching with Memory Progression

As it gets closer to the beginning of the “hardwood season” we as coaches are continually looking for methods in teaching our teams, the concepts, skills, and details that will make our selected offenses and defenses easier to run.  I have always tried to design drills that will create, “muscle memory” and a “progression” that will quickly install the Run and Jump Press with my teams.

Below you will see a 30 -minute session that can be your first installment of the Run and Jump Press!  It is a simple teaching progression to follow and will teach many of the “press elements” that you need.

In my next Blog, I will show and breakdown the set of progression drills when it comes to trapping the sideline and rotation into the ball, gaps, and out of the traps.  It will follow the same design and progression principles.
